And there was evening, and there was morning…

My wife, Diane, doesn’t look here like a person who has just lost the use of both legs due to an MS relapse. Her attitude and smile defeat what just 5 or 6 weeks ago seemed like a devastating blow. We’re not sure what the immediate future holds for her because she has several other difficult medical problems which existed prior to this relapse; and as if that wasn’t bad enough her neurological center doesn’t have a specialist in MS! They are all mostly general Nurse Practitioners or PAs with limited professional capabilities in this area  —and a computer screen. I find this unbelievable, but it is true.

In any case she needs to get inflammation down if she is ever to get back to even shuffling with her Walker again. For now it is the Wheelchair 24×7 and all the challenges attendant to it. So we live in hope, but are prepared, if God so wills, to accept the present as permanent. So most nights for us is reading, listening to Neil Young or John Michael Talbot, or watching a movie (Tonight it was Remains of the Day with. Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson, a fabulous 1993 production).

And life goes on —until the end.
