Everywhere I look I see rising stacks —of hair buns. What can possibly be the meaning of it? And it seems to have spontaneously arisen here in Massachusetts. Especially in the last two years. I see these mostly on women, but not only women. Nay nay. Not even on women pushing their ridiculously pampered and healthy dogs in their ridiculous (and maybe ominous) baby carriages.
Can it really be only a hair style? But why now?
Could it be some kind of a message embedded in a new ideology sprouting everywhere? Or possibly some new kind of syndrome? A deep psychological factor working and spreading beneath the surface like a mental fungus?
What compels it? I suspect it is a symptom, a sign of hypnotic group-think — radically independent minds at work, all showing solidarity, whether there is a wink and a handshake or not.
Whatever the case it does nothing for women — or for men called dudes 😎?
