On Striving to be Small Towards Christmas.

From The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis., 15th Century. God help us. “… a humble tiller of the land who serves God is better than a proud philosopher who neglects his soul to study the course of the stars. He who knows himself well becomes mean in his own eyes and is not… Read More On Striving to be Small Towards Christmas.

Thomas a Kempis: “Do Not Trust Feelings”

How can we know the Way? “Thy Word is a light to my feet and a lamp to my path.” Psalm 119:105 By Way of The Cross He leads us through both light and darkness. “My son, trust not to thy present feeling, for it will soon give way to another. As long as you… Read More Thomas a Kempis: “Do Not Trust Feelings”

No man without Him understandeth or rightly judgeth. The man to whom all things are one, who bringeth… Read More From this One Are All Things

Free from a multitude of opinions

“A good and devout man arranges in his mind the things he has to do, not according to the whims of evil inclination but according to the dictates of right reason. Who is forced to struggle more than he who tries to master himself? This ought to be our purpose, then: to conquer self, to… Read More Free from a multitude of opinions

Of the Knowledge of Truth

The Imitation of ChristBy Thomas a Kempis, 15th century. Bk.1 ch.3 The Doctrine of Truth HAPPY is he whom Truth teacheth by itself, not by figures and words that pass, but as it is in itself.—PS. XVII. 36; IS. XXVIII. 26. Our opinion and our sense often deceive us and discover but little. What availeth… Read More Of the Knowledge of Truth

“Without this word no one understands or judges rightly”

It is better to fear the world’s admiration than to fear its mockery or ostracization. “He to whom the eternal Word speaks is set at liberty from a multitude of opinions. From one word are all things, and of this one all things speak; and this is the beginning which also speaketh to us. From one… Read More “Without this word no one understands or judges rightly”

The Bride and the Dragon
Rev. 12: 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the heavens and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. Confess the Faith, "in season and out". [2 Tim.4:2; Rom.10:9].
