“No serious musician would say that there is such a thing as “the best chord ever”. But I disagree. Not only is there such a chord – one that Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin occasionally used to make their music truly special and unique – but this chord also allows us to create a “perfect chord progression”: one that has all the elements of a great story – direction, suspense and surprise!

I am a strong believer that the most beautiful music can be created with the simplest chords and chord progressions. But I make an exception for this one, which I call the magical chord”
