‘X has blocked a Catholic Critique article linking to an essay about Jesus as miracle worker. The warning was placed over the essay (see below) requiring any who would not turn back to press a special button on the obstacle. And while the brief piece does lightly criticize “strident empiricists,” and those prejudiced against the very idea of miracles, it is hardly an essay likely to be considered dangerous or offensive to those platforms dedicated to free speech, or the people who visit such platforms.

This is the essay and drawing that has been blocked, deemed “graphic content”:

‘X’ daily allows the most vicious Comments, mockery and fights on its platform. It allows pornographic materials. Why this article (above and below) would be targeted, I have no idea. We’re all big boys and girls, and we saw what happened to the old Twitter.

Update #1

Note: I do hope censorship goes no further. Today I have seen a significant drop in views and visitors here at CC WordPress. I hope it is merely a coincidence.

Compared to most sites —and certainly podcasts, this website is tiny despite the volume of posts, but some do not see it as inconsequential.

My hope is that the ‘tech bros’ haven’t begun to slap down our own good faith attempts to engage the times. They have declared themselves to be Free Speech advocates. I hope they will honor that commitment — for us all. SH

The preposterous warning attached
to the brief post above lasted
all day as a total block which the
reader had to unlock to view. At this
hour tonight it remains as a written
warning suggesting that the content
is so egregious readers ought to
turn back. Days ago I was informed
that the “reach” of any post I do will
be “impacted”. In other words it will
practically go nowhere. I saw the
effect of this shadow banning today
when I barely saw a hundred Views.
This is very unfair.
