When I began this website it was after I had debated within myself, video podcasts or the written word? God knows I’m handsome enough to do a podcast (-: But then I thought that since I wanted to confess the faith, despite my frailties and sins, for my grandchildren, the written word is more likely to last.
I wanted to bring together the best writers, analyses, and publications of my time, whose writings I wanted to help make last.
I wanted to provide the next generation with greater context for what they and theirs will likely be living through.
Video podcasts even if they should last are not easily referenced. Try to find a comment your favorite podcast host said even last year —whereas the word can easily be copied, indexed and passed on.. Every day, people I don’t know come here and peruse (and presumably copy) the most important writers or thoughts from the archives, index and Search menus.

Podcast? It has never been about me; it’s about us, and especially those most important thinkers of the past or present who have said so much in relatively brief spaces. They have left us a witness in the written word.
At least that’s my hope in this effort.
“In the beginning was the word,” not images, or videos, even if these too can say many important ephemeral things today.
