Not ‘God’. God in Christ.

The most subtly banned Name in all of Social Media is the Name of Jesus Christ, the Christ of the Gospel, the Christ of history, and the Christ of Faith. This is true of the West in general. On the Internet we will find the ill-defined cover-all name-term “God,” and many other equally vague substitutes, many times — on the printed page, in the public square, and endlessly in the mouths of both sincere and cynical politicians. But the Catholic Christian Gospel proclaims that the only genuine hope for our world is Jesus Christ, His life, His teachings, His redemptive death on the Cross and His resurrection because there is only one God and one Created universe,  and this one Trinitarian God, has entered into time and space to deliver man from the oppression of sin and the fear of judgement upon death. For,

God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing to them their sins; and he hath placed in us the word of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:19)

And “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12).

He alone is the Light of the world. Our only Hope which alone can make us free. And millions upon millions of apostles and disciples of life down the ages have been martyred for this Name, trying to bring Hope to peoples everywhere entangled in sin, spiritual contradictions, and deepest darkness.

To be sure, Christians too can fall back under the oppressive power of sin and lose the sanctifying grace of God, and we have done so many times. But when we do, we know it is against Him we have sinned. So we too in such times must, like all persons, repent, acknowledge our spiritual failures sacramentally and do penance in order to regain our spiritual equilibrium.

God is not a psychological projection or mere opiate of the people. There would be no projections, opiates, or human beings at all if God did not create us and all created, contingent being. Only He Exists as the One Necessary and Uncreated Being, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End of all things.

The fool has said in His heart there is no God” (PS. 14:1)

We are all made in God’s image. We must beware all vague Masonic-like talk about ‘God’ in the mouths of both politicians and modern philosophers.
