Updated. An apparent death cult disguised as a human rights campaign for women reigns in the land. A Harris administration will certainly broaden access to abortion, including pills. But what about Donald Trump’s moral schizophrenia in this regard?
Abortion is a major issue in the upcoming Presidential election. “Health Secretary Xavier Becerra promised to “leave no stone unturned” on abortion care.
The federal government under a Harris administration we know will make surgical abortion and abortion pills even more readily available now that some states have moved to ban abortion following the Supreme Court’s overturning of its landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

“Increasing access to this drug is a national imperative and in the public interest,” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said just before the last midterms during a 30-minute press conference at the agency’s headquarters in Washington, DC.
He vowed his office will “work with federal law enforcement agencies to ensure that states cannot ban abortion pills, as some Republican-led states have tried to do — though it’s unclear how the laws would be enforced given that pills are sent through the mail.

“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them“. Ephesians 5:11
Trump / Vance
Federal offices have also been sending information to healthcare providers about the medications, called misoprostol and mifepristone, Becerra said.
And both Donald Trump and J.D. Vance too have promised not to interfere with “a woman’s right to choose” abortions as a legal form of birth control up to some immoral and arbitrary end point.
Catholic Vote noted this week, “God doesn’t support the dismemberment of children in the womb. By supporting abortion, you’re not only abandoning your faith, but God.”
Well, this is why, whatever else the polarized candidates believe or promise to be and do, some (few?) of us cannot bring ourselves to vote in the upcoming Presidential election. How does anyone choose between Caesar and Herod the Great in this matter of the slaughter of the innocents just because one Party may be worse than the other in other matters? I cannot bring myself(1) to think it is morally possible for me to vote for either sets of candidates in this Presidential election. Can there really be a “lesser of two evils” option when babies are going to be slaughtered in any case in the sole interests of attaining political power? This appears to me to be utilitarian rationalization, Enlightenment dialectical dissembling.
Our spiritual senses are being blunted with each passing year. Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion, Mifepristone and the LGBT+ revolution are set to prevail. And which political Party promises to stop it in America? How can they? Enlightenment “liberty” must be preserved!”
If Trump would only say “I disapprove of all abortions, but I am helpless stop it…” But no, he is not prolife. He approves it. He always has. His “Catholic” wife, Melania, is openly and radically pro-choice. Melania’s militancy is no small part of his campaign now. And everyone knows most abortions have been an essential part of the sexual revolution, and are just another way to terminate “unwanted pregnancies”. Only rarely is the mother’s very life involved.
The only thing Donald Trump gives us for sure is a promise of a better economy and the people he constantly demonizes and tells us to fear and reject: immigrants (“They’re eating the pets!”), immigrants who were brought here for cynical political reasons, and most of whom are doubtless just looking for better opportunities in life.
No, in this election we are left as we began, as strangers in a strange land.

“I had an abortion when I was a single mother and my daughter was 2 years old. I would do it again. But you know the Greek myths when you kill a relative you are pursued by furies? For months, it was as if baby furies were pursuing me.
“These are not the words of a benighted, superstition-ridden teenager lost in America’s cultural backwaters. They are the words of a Cornell-educated, urban-dwelling Democratic-voting 40-year-old cardiologist. I’ll call her Clare. Clare is exactly the kind of person for whom being pro-choice is an unshakeable conviction. If there were a core constituent of the movement to secure abortion rights, Clare would be it. And yet: her words are exactly the words to which the pro-choice movement is not listening”.— Our Bodies, Our Souls: Naomi Wolf evaluates “Pro-Choice” strategy, Naomi Wolf, The New Republic, 1995

“…In a late-term abortion, the unborn child can feel pain, whereas an early stage embryo does not. But that doesn’t change the basic injustice of the act, which is the same in both cases (just as painlessly killing an unconscious innocent person is no less murder than painfully killing a conscious innocent person). Also, while any intellectually honest person can see that a late-term fetus is a human being, someone who is ignorant or confused may not realize that an embryo is a human being as well. And that can affect the person’s moral culpability for the act of killing an embryo. But that too does not change the basic moral character of the act itself.” — Edward Feser
