Rosary College is a two-year liberal arts college in the Catholic tradition offering courses in the humanities ordered toward readiness to serve within the Church and society. It finds inspiration in the Benedictine tradition of integrating prayer and work and expressing beauty for the glory of God.
Immersing students in the legacy of the life and culture of the Catholic tradition, it guides students in learning how to think and lead within their communities.
Rosary College serves Catholics in the Upstate region of South Carolina, particularly high school students, young adults, and others seeking foundational courses in the Catholic liberal arts tradition.
Joseph Pearce writes,
I am so excited to announce the opening of Rosary College, the first ever college in South Carolina to offer a classical education in the Catholic tradition. I am honoured to be a member of the Board of Trustees of this new venture and adventure. Other board members include Father Dwight Longenecker, author of numerous books, and R. Jared Staudt, a great theologian who is the author of How the Eucharist Can Save Civilization. Jared and I will both be teaching courses for Rosary College when courses begin this Fall semester. Details of the course that I’ll be teaching, along with details of how to enroll, are given below.
Rosary College will offer affordable college-level education for students in the upstate of South Carolina and will also offer online courses, enabling students to enroll from anywhere in the world.
Please consider supporting this dynamic new initiative with a donation or by signing up for my course and other courses that we’re offering this coming Fall. Please visit the Rosary College website for more details: Rosary College Application

Classical Epic and Tragedy with Joseph Pearce
An Invitation
I will be teaching an online class for the newly founded Rosary College this Fall semester. I am hoping you will join me by enrolling in the course.
During the full-semester course, we will take a deep dive into Homer’s epics, The Iliad and The Odyssey, as well as Virgil’s Aeneid. We will also delve into the greatest works of Greek drama, focusing on all three of Sophocles’ Theban Plays, Antigone, Oedipus Rex and Oedipus at Colonus. If you’ve always wanted to know more about the great literary legacy of ancient Greece and Rome, now’s your chance!
Prospective students have the option to enroll in Rosary College for credit or, alternatively, of simply signing up to audit the course for half the cost.
